The Jeep Renegade is a small compact crossover vehicle that is mainly suited for more off-road and adventurous type of roads but when I was doing my research, I found out that they actually have a towing capacity attached to them!
After doing my research and throwing all of the data together, I found out they don't have a huge weight capacity when it comes to hauling, but considering their size and what they're really geared towards I think it's great that they actually had some sort of pulling power, which would be great for a small trailer if you were doing a little remote camping!
Overview of the Data For the Renegade:
Engine Choices: There we're two different engine choices for all model years, but that did not seem to affect the overall capacity numbers, except when it came to the 2018 - 2015 models.
Models that were made from 2021 to 2019 had the same exact maximum trailer weight rating no matter what engine you had, while the earlier 2018 - 2015 models only have one engine that was suitable for towing.
Towing Capacity: The towing capacity over the years stayed the same for models that had a maximum trailer weight capacity rating, set at a maximum of two thousand pounds.
This made the charts really easy to read and navigate and to be honest takes a lot of the guesswork out of how much you can actually haul, without having to figure a bunch of calculations like you sometimes have to with other manufacturers vehicles.
Some of the model years for the Jeep Renegade share the same tow specs, and instead of posting multiple charts with the same data, I posted a single chart that applies to all of the model years in that particular section.
Be sure to always read your owner's manuals for all of the most recent and updated information for your Renegade no. I was able to find a lot of useful information in these can they are definitely worth taking a look at.
2021-2019 Models:
The 2021-2019 Jeep Renegade's had a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds, complemented by a maximum trailer tongue weight rating of 200 pounds, or 10%.
There were two different engines that were offered for these model years, the 1.3 liter turbo engine and the 2.4 liter engine.
If you look at the chart below you can see that it didn't matter which engine you had a quipped, as the maximum gross trailer weight rating for the same for both engines, along with the maximum trailer tongue weight ratings.

2018-2015 Models:
The 2018-2015 model add the same maximum towing capacity rating of 2,000 lb, along with that same 200lb maximum tongue weight rating but had different engine options than we saw for the 2021 - 2019 models.
The 2.4 liter engine was still offered, but the other engine was a 1.4 L turbo, instead of the 1.3 liter turbo engine we saw in the later model years.
I do want to know that the maximum trailer weight rating was only listed for models that have the 2.4 L engine equip as the 1.4 L engine was not recommended to haul any sort of weight, as you can see above the table in the image below.

Tow Equipment
I was able to find a description of what comes with the tow package for the Renegade by looking in the brochure for the specific model year of the vehicle. Below are two examples of what I was able to find and for both the 2021 and 2015 models they had a class 3 hitch receiver installed and some sort of trailer wiring harness, so you can hook up your lights/brakes.

The 2015 model came with a 7 and 4-pin connector, while the 2021 models only stated that they came with a 4 pin connector, so be sure to look at your specific model year's brochure to see exactly what came in the package.
Trailer Brakes...
There was a note in the owner's manuals that talked about trailer brakes when towing with your Renegade, and I captured a screenshot of what I found in the manual below.
Basically, Jeep recommends that you have trailer brakes installed if your trailer and cargo weight of that trailer combined is equal to or greater than 1000 lb and the same brakes are required for trailers in excess of two thousand pounds.

GVWR and GAWR Specs...
You will need to eventually know your gross vehicle weight rating and gross axle weight rating specifications when calculating more complicated loads. The gross vehicle weight rating is especially important because the trailers tongue weight takes away from this rating and contributes to the overall maximum weight allowed.
These figures were not in the owner's manuals however, but you can find these on the certification label that is located on the door jamb, if you open the driver side door. Here you'll see the gross vehicle weight rating and both gross vehicle weight rating figures, along with a lot of other useful information.
